4th Dongjiang Lake Peach Festival to be Opened on March 20, 2016

It was learned from the press conference for 4th China Dongjiang Lake (Bailang) Peach Festival which was held on March 4, 2016 that the festival which is with the theme of “Dongjiang Lake’s spring, romantic Peach Island” will be opened on Peach Square of ring lake road of Bailang town on March 20, 2016 and last till March 30, 2016.

It was learned that the festival was successfully carried out by Dongjiang Lake for three times. It is the first time for it to be held in Dongjiang Lake after obtaining the title of national 5A landscape, which would be significant for popularizing Dongjiang Lake brand, improving rural ecological leisure tourism, and promoting popular tourism. Four parts as opening ceremony, romantic peach luck, charming peach road, and celebrities’ enjoying of flowers will be held on the activity.

As introduced by the sponsor that the most attractive part for this festival is the music drama of “Seven Fairies Come Down to the Human World”. All the fairies of Zang, Yi, Qiang, Mongolia, Bai, Tujia, and Naxi minority were elaborately selected by the organization commission from Chengdu Southwestern University of Nationalities. Visitors who are fun of music drama can enjoy a very good time then.

As a romantic day, 20 young couples will celebrate their big day on the festival. They will lock their loving locks which carved with their names on Shuilong steel cable bridge in the Peach Island and throw the keys into the lake.

It was introduced by Liao Caoyang- Director of Zixing Media Group (Tourism and Foreign Affair Bureau) that in order to add more cultural connotations to the festival, some famous internet celebrities and cultural celebrities will invited to attend the festival and some interaction activities. Yao’er (Yang Yuesha)- an up-rising singer from Hunan province will perform on the festival as well.

During the festival, besides enjoying peach flowers in Bailang, Qingjiang, Huangcao, and other places, visitors can attend some other activities as push-and-pull, hiking, loving lock, and etc.

Liao Caoyang said that there is no ticket charged for this festival. The best season for enjoying peach flowers will be from March 17- 27, 2016 and the best place is Peach Island. He expressed his warm invitation to all visitors.

First Sakura Festival Opens in Guiyang County

Walking among flowers, you may enjoy a good time in the ancient town of Guiyang county. On March 1, 2016, one of the activities of “enjoying flowers in Guiyang county in spring” – 2016 1st Sakura Festival of Guiyang County was opened to public.
The sakura is mainly available in Guiyang Agricultural Institution, Baoshan Mine Park, Fengjiaxu of Haotang town, and Aoquan town. 7 different species sakura are planted in over 6000mu areas, 3000mu of which is in Guiyang Agricultural Institution. It was said that sakura flowers can only last for 7 days from full blossom to fallen, so it was also known as “sakura seven days”. Now it is the time for enjoying sakura, many visitors were attracted to visit Guiyang county.

“Sakura park is hot in recent days. We may face traffic jam on the days when sakuras are blossoming,” said by Ms. Li who is one of the volunteers of the Sakura Park. Besides local residents, many visitors from other places were attracted to enjoy sakura there.

Mr. Hu and his wife visited the Sakura Park for second time. He said: “the flowers are beautiful. We came here one week before. The flowers blooming like a piece of brocade. It was really charming. We come here again today for learning that it is Sakura Festival.” As you can see from above image, many visitors were taking photos there. Mr. Liu and his friends visited here by bike. He said the sakuras were beautiful and was suitable for photographing.

Cole Flowers are Blossoming

Some visitors were enjoying their leisure time in high-yield cole demonstration base of Sicun village, Tangcun town, Jiahe county on February 27, 2016. From the late February, over 40,000mu cole flowers of Jiahe county were blossoming gradually, which granted the visitors with bright yellow images on travelling there. In last winter, the county implemented the supporting policies to provide technological planting services for farmers, work on the construction of high-yield cole demonstration, and issue subsidies on time, all of which greatly motivated local people’s positivity on planting cole.

Spring is coming. The 10-thousand-mu cole flowers decorated Danxia mountain with unique charm. As you can see from above image, farmers planted the cole in some piecemeal lands of the red mountain. The red Danxia landform and golden flowers enhance each other’s beauty in the spring and grant visitors with special flavor.
